Poem: Let’s do good…

i’m a rebuke to the godless,

like a sore thumb i stand before the wicked,

and though i intend no harm,

i want to do only good,

i find myself embroiled,

as was John the Baptist with Herod,

for he too didn’t want to harm,

either Herod, or his dear wife,

but to save them from God’s wrath,

not only thoroughly misunderstood,

nor absolutely withstood,

but thoroughly beheaded.

and for all the good that God’s people do,

to public shame and death are they put,

surely there a sinister force must be,

behind a people so void of conscience,

to return evil to those who do good,

yes there’s such a force,

the force is Satan.

fear none of those things,

which thou shalt suffer,

behold, the devil shall cast,

some of you into prison,

that ye may be tried,

and ye shall have tribulation for days,

be thou faithful unto death,

and i’ll give thee a crown of life,

don’t be afraid of man,

or what he can do to you.

i am with you,

and My grace is sufficient for you,

when you pass through the waters,

they will not overflow you,

not even in death are you defeated,

you are more than conquerors,

who shall separate us,

from the love of Christ?

shall tribulation or distress,

shall persecution or famine,

shall nakedness or peril or sword?

as written it is,

for thy sake are we killed,

all the day long,

accounted as sheep for slaughter,

yet in all these,

we are more than conquerors,

through Him that loved us,

for friends i am persuaded,

that neither death, nor life,

nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,

nor things present, nor things to come,

nor height ,nor depth, nor any other creature,

shall separate us, from the love of God,

which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord.
